The
month of April signalled the start of
the outreach season for Marine Reach.
We have five major medical programs
planned this year with ophthalmic,
optical, medical, dental and
construction teams in several Pacific
Island nations. Presently a medical and
dental team is on the island of Mindoro
in the Philippines, ministering in the
“Mangyan” Tribal area. This two week
program is in areas that are still known
to be occupied by rebel groups opposed
to the Philippine government. Please
pray for safety and wisdom for our teams
so we can serve those who are truly in
need effectively.
Additionally, our 30 strong discipleship
training schools students and staff are
now on outreach in Philippines,
Thailand, Fiji, Cambodia and Brazil.
They will be involved in medical
programs, helping in orphanages and also
partnering with NGO’s that are engaged
against human trafficking and child
prostitution.
Human trafficking is indeed a major
problem in Thailand, Cambodia and Brazil
and in many other countries around the
globe. The aim of our “Justice Reach”
school is to gather information and to
assist and provide manpower to
organisations in those nations we visit.
Please pray for protection and strength
as we engage those who have become
victims of this terrible crime to
humanity.
Just a few days ago we concluded our
bi-annual Youth With A Mission “HUI”
(pronounced “WHO-EEEE” means “meeting”
in Maori). We had several YWAM
locations from New Zealand with over 20
nations represented. Over 120 people
attended the event which meant our
Marine Reach base was full to capacity.
We had an amazing time together with
reports of what God is doing in our
mission nationally, as well as time to
reflect on what we as a mission are
called to do and refocus our targets on
the most important aspects of why Youth
With A Mission exists as a movement.
To place it simply…we had a blessed time
with family!
Project Kilo is well underway as we see
people continue to give, pray and
participate. We have identified a
probable ship that fits our
requirements. We are at present in
communication with the ship broker in
Japan. Though very hopeful we still need
funds
in order to make any offer on this
latest vessel. Please check out
our website, www.projectkilo.com for the
latest updates. We continue to work hard
in raising the amount needed to purchase
a new ship for New Zealand.
I would like to thank you, John, for
your continued support and giving to
this vital service into the Pacific
Islands. Your donation today is
important to us as we aim to continue to
serve the least, the last and the
unreached in our region.
Let me leave you with this quote that is
very close to my heart…. “Our being
begets our doing and our doing gives
birth to others being…” be a world
changer today!
