A happy new year to you all!

I hope that celebrating with family and friends during the Christmas season, and the New Year, has brought a sense of joy and secured some warm memories for you.  Princess and I had family stay with us for a few days.  We set up tents in our backyard in Tauranga and coined it as, “Occupy Tauranga.”   We were hoping for the best, but were rained out; however, it did not dampen our holiday as we celebrated despite the external influences which were beyond our control.  We decided to enjoy each others company and the ‘reason for the season’ no matter what!

2011 was full of challenges and difficulties for us and likely for some of you as well.  Do we give up because of those challenges and difficulties…being caught between a rock and a hard place?  OR, do we, with the right attitude, influence our outcome by making our woes a stepping stone to a prosperous future?

I have been inspired by the people of Christchurch, who despite repeated earthquakes and setbacks to the rebuilding process, have pushed onward.  We, too, must decide and resolve to face our own fears and move forward.

In 2011 we were able to bring direct medical intervention to 34,000 people in four Pacific Island nations.  In 2012 we have a renewed passion and vision for more.  Despite the challenges we face, we are motivated to face these challenges, fears and concerns head-on.

I find it amusing to consider why we celebrate the New Year if we can only imagine the impending doom it presents.  I believe there is an intrinsic value we possess as human beings, divinely implanted, that dares to overcome.  A Godly principle we call…HOPE.
I dare and challenge you to hope in 2012 for the best; to have faith in God, in yourself and in others; and finally to love with action, which is the greatest gift we can give each other.

We attach our vision statement for 2012 and ask you to partner and pray for us.  Thank you for your generosity Reynold & Anna for being a significant part of what we do.  Know with certainty that the legacy of Marine Reach – YWAM is yours too.
Matthew 25:34 –“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.  For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ ’’

God bless you!
