| A couple more weeks and a few more days will usher in the celebration of the year: ‘Christmas’, and a brand new year. I’ve always wondered why God arranged Christmas to be at the end of one year and before the beginning of the next. It just dawned on me that God wants to be in the middle of it all and be a part of our lives … completely. As I reflect on this year and read through our new magazine Next Wave, it causes me to marvel how many of God’s ‘divine appointments’ have transpired. I will not bore you with the details that you can read for yourselves, however I stand amazed at how we were able to accomplish the things we did. There are many factors to consider in these accomplishments, but there are some that do stand out above the rest: namely the many prayers and letters of support you sent our way to help us make it happen. One of our supporters sent me a touching letter of her impending hip operation and how she has a bad heart, yet she continues to pray and support the ministry. There were also many people who responded to the plight of the child with a broken arm in Mindoro, and the bedridden man with a stab wound to his back in Eastern Samar … thank you for giving of yourselves! I just received an update from the man in Eastern Samar; he is now back in his home town and is recovering well. He is so grateful to all of you who gave the best gift he and his family could receive this Christmas time … his life and his relationship with God restored. For the thousands who have been relieved of pain, had eyesight restored, new roofs built over their heads, and wounds dressed they will look to 2008 with a new sense of hope and a better future. From us all in Marine Reach we just would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and blessed 2008. Thank you for partnering with us as your hands and feet to proclaim God’s heart to the nations. Allow us to pray a blessing on your households and families; for good health and cheer this Christmas time, and that our God who started the good work in you will complete it! God bless!
