National Office Accountant

Marine Reach Ministries is always looking for people to join them in ministry. However in order to join us long-term you must have completed a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS). If you would like to join us and you haven’t completed a DTS, we do accept interns for 2 months up to 1 year on a case by case basis.

There are a variety of opportunities with Marine Reach Ministries available. We are a ministry of Youth With A Mission, and as a result, we have a unique model for financing our ministry. Every YWAM worker, including the founder Loren Cunningham, raises enough funds to meet his or her own financial needs. For most people in YWAM, these funds come from friends, family and churches who contribute financially.

Summary Description The National Office Bookkeeper / Accountant will perform a wide range of professional accounting duties in the analysis, preparation and maintenance of financial records, budgets, reports for YWAM / Marine Reach Ministries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Bookkeeping / Accounting for NGOs Preparing journal entries; Reconciling general ledger and subsidiary accounts; Preparing monthly financial statements; Distributing monthly revenue and expenditure reports; Calculating and preparing reimbursement billings and tracks receivables; Reconcile monthly accounts receivable; Prepare audit schedules for external auditing; Assist in the preparation of annual and mid-year budgets and reports. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities It is suggested that the Bookkeeper / Accountant should have knowledge, skills and abilities in these areas to be the best fit with the position: Strong knowledge of YWAM and Marine Reach Ministries; Extensive experience in accounting or bookkeeping (licensing/training preferred); Good understanding of NGO policies and procedures (i.e., MANGO); Good computer skills (Including Microsoft Excel and Sage); Good knowledge of accepted accounting/auditing practices and principles; Good understanding of applicable laws, codes and regulations; Good attention to detail; Professional demeanor; Good interpersonal / communication skills; Flexibility.
