Mission Reach Teams have been designed for churches and other Christian groups who want a framework to help them launch out into missions. Marine Reach Ministries offer different styles of outreaches for groups of 8-25 people.
All Mission Reach Team outreaches have a 3-fold purpose:
1. 1.To serve people by providing free medical/dental/optical/ophthalmologic (eye-surgery) care;
2. 2.To serve those in need by constructing facilities otherwise unavailable to them; and
3. 3.To do all of this as an expression of God’s love, desiring eventually to lead others into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Outreach
The outreaches typically involve 10 days on location. Monday – Friday are working days for medical and construction teams, Saturdays are usually a day off, and Sundays are for church. There will also be evangelism opportunities in the evenings.
Medical
Our medical coordinators will oversee each medical team, and arrange for supplies and equipment. The teams may include: Primary Health Care, dentistry, optometry and ophthalmology.
Construction
Construction projects will be prepared for incoming teams based on the needs and the requests of the community. Teams select projects based on the skills and resources on the team. There are opportunities for both skilled and unskilled volunteers.
Evangelism
It is the aim of Marine Reach Ministries to accompany healing and good works with preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Building relationships with local people throughout the time of outreach will help to prove opportunities to minister to others in many ways. This may include, but is not limited to: dramas, sermons, children’s ministry, testimonies and prayer.
If necessary ‘Teams’ staff will also be available to guide the outreach. Again all costs for this will need to be met by the group concerned.
Communications
Please direct all communications, requests, etc. regarding Mission Reach Teams to the Teams Co-ordinator.
