ABOUT US
Marine Reach Ministries (MRM) is the main maritime arm of YWAM, currently working in 14 countries. MRM started in 1990 in New Zealand with a small group of people who wanted to share Christ’s love to coastal communities around the world through the use of ships. What started out as a ministry using ships to reach the medical needs of the poor and needy in the pacific has grown into a variety of different ministries. Today MRM is a growing organization of trained professionals and dedicated volunteers who use ships, trucks, containers and mobile clinics to demonstrate Christ’s heart of hope and compassion to those in need around the world.
Marine Reach Ministries is broken down into three divisions with the same three focuses for each part of the ministry:
Mercy Trucks is a partner ministry of Marine Reach Ministries. Volunteers provide aid and development to those in need through the use of trucks, containers, and mobile mercy units.
Marine Reach is the maritime arm of Marine Reach Ministries. Through the use of waterborne vessels, volunteers reach out to needy communities via oceans, seas, lakes and tributaries.
Mercy Link is the stationary, land-based division of Marine Reach Ministries. From full-time outreach centers volunteers impact surrounding communities and provide long-lasting sustainable programming for those in need.
All divisions of MRM focus on the three categories of: evangelism, training, and mercy ministries. However most of our programmes have a major focus on mercy ministries specifically medical care. Medical work may vary from dental work to cataract surgeries from health education to general practice medicine. Workers vary from nurses and doctors to general volunteers. Our aim is “linking resources to needs” this will include a variety of relief expressions depending on the needs of a particular area or country.
From YWAM Harpenden we operate one of the two regional offices. Here in Harpenden we serve the projects located in Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
